I know I've been a slacker blogger, but Real Life has overtaken this!
However, since I want to remember this Real Life, I'm giving myself (y'all) a cop-out "Two on Tuesday" b/c that's all I can muster today!
1. Annalise is officially a sitter! Albeit wobbly, but she can sit on her own and almost crawl. I'm really in no hurry for her increased mobility. If she's like to go straight to walking, I rather that, but that still means babyproofing the scary stairs and keeping the big kids' little toys out of Annalise's sweet mouth!
2. Annalise can say "Mama." Yes, really. Almost "I love you, Mama," but that may be only to my ears.
This just in! (3:00PM)
3. Annalise waved bye-bye to Stuart before nap.

Friday Funnies
C has been having the typical boy issues with maintaining good personal hygiene. This week when I told him to go wash his face and reminded him to use soap, he started throwing a fit and said, "I don't LIKE washing my face with soap; it makes me feel GROSS!"
*******
SA and SJ were again discussing marriage in the car (maybe this is a spring phenomenon).
SJ: I think I can marry Zach.
SA: But he is way much bigger than you.
SJ: Yes, but he can still dance with me.
*******
I was reminding SJ that she had to have shoes to go outside.
SJ: I don't want any on. I just want to be in my feet.
*******
Outside we were talking to our neighbor, Mrs. Howell. She is 92 and blind. She was asking after the kids and trying to remember how old they all are. Sabrina was skipping back and forth between us.
Me: They are 7, almost 6, almost 4, and 6 months.
Mrs. H: Wow, you have your hands full.
SJ (comes galloping over to me and grabs my hands with her soft, chubby ones): Let me check. Nope, they're not full. You're ok, mama.

Friday Funnies
S had begged to play on the computer and I said he could after a nap (because he was cranky as all get out!). He did sleep for about an hour and then played the computer for about 15 minutes before he wanted to stop. Normally he would play for hours if it were allowed. I asked him about it and he responded, "I know, but we read three books today in Mrs. Hammann's class and my arms and legs hurt, so I really need to rest my arms and legs."
S, while getting ready to read for the evening, said, "Mom, I don't think I listen to the book tonight. My ears are really tired."
SJ insists on having my Trader Joe's mints that are like Altoids. After having about 1/3 of one, she took it out and said, "Mom, I have to wait a bit before my chocolate milk. I need to let my mouth warm down."
C has been having trouble responding with respect and has started eye-rolling. Michael spoke with him on the phone about it. Later, C comes to me and says, "Mom, I'm sorry for giving you my whatever face. This is my "whatever face" (he rolls his eyes). I'm sorry for that."
I wish I had more time, but I'm in Houston and this is what you get!

Not Me! Monday
Oh, Monday! Here's the crazy blog carnival of MckMama of all things that DID NOT happen.
Remember this week last year when we put our house on the market and it failed to sell so we rented it out? Our renters DID NOT call this week to break their lease to buy a new house. We were NOT shocked at this, 6 months early. We are NOT hoping that someone will just walk up and buy/rent it. NOPE, NOT at all praying the third times the charm! I'm totally looking forward to hearing realtors say, "This house is so cute! It will sell in the first week." I've NEVER heard that before. (But if you are interested, you can email 817Atalanta@gmail.com!)
This week my husband and I DID NOT have a great, long date. It was NOT wonderful to be gone from the house for 5 hours! I'm NOT a little sad that A is weaning, since she's probably our last. (Not that nursing has been something I've ever been able to do exclusively, but sad to see it go)
My kids DO NOT say too many funny things to record. I DO NOT berate myself for forgetting to write these things down when they say them. I am NOT promising to get some recorded this week, just because I love y'all.
I DID NOT just admit to Michael & Sam that I may be watching Kelly Ripa too much when she came on "The Marriage Ref" and I noticed that I'd seen her wear the same dress twice before...
Have a great week!
